Spooky Action at a Distance

Some sonic adventures and some old interests retrieved.
1- Joe Satriani's "The Extremist" (1992). Soulful and technically gifted virtuoso which truly inspires.
2-An Autumn For Crippled Children "Lost" (2010):  I'd read a number of favorable reviews on this belgian black metal band and i have to say it met my expectations.
3-"Spooky Action at a Distance" (2012) by Lotus Plaza:An indie rock band which is the solo project of Lockett Pundt.
4-Ghastly City Sleep "Moondrifts" (2010): Post-rock music
5-Saturnus "The Saturn Is Rising" (2012): Long anticipated album by death/doom metal giants. I still find them innovative, emotive and loyal to elements of the genre. Guitar riffs are still so catchy...so killing.
6-Richard Edward Horner: I found this artist through his websites. He's a composer and guitar virtuoso.
7-Tim Brady: canadian composer and electric guitarist.

Air Is Back

I walked 5.5 km early this morning. It was refreshing as usual; tunneling the grey aura of my life these days. Good music was admittedly the icing on the cake; I listened to "Across Waters" and "Coldplay". It was necessary after the crash to rediscover myself and breath some fresh air. This's been more of a meditative nature than a mere physical exercise. That's why i enjoy the silent and lonely walks. They help me recognize pluck deep origin of some thoughts. Walking is accompanied by a myriad of flashbacks  and a storming force of far and near memories.

Tuesday: Shoulders And Giants

I walked about 6.4 km today (September 11th ). The weather was excellent. It was dark when i started at 6:50. I focused to keep a constant pace and rhythm. Secondly i had to change my breathing. I listened to "Collapse Under The Empire" and 3 tracks of "Les Discrets" from the 2010 album "Septembre et ses Dernieres Pensees".  Post-Rock sound is really fantastic for walking/running. Last week i listened to "Crippled Black Phoenix" and "If These Trees Could Talk". Those were fantastic too.

Two Thumbs Up Les Discrets

I listen to this french post-rock/shoegaze band and it's so beautiful, really catchy music and some excellent lyrics. Specifically i like the way they integrated Paul Verlaine's poem in their decent tunes. I'm hugely impressed by the shoegazey taste!

My Album of The Month (April 2012)

Winterhalter

Artist: Les Discrets
Album: Septembre et Ses Dernières Pensées
Year: 2010
This is good, i mean really good; close to my heart. This french band really rocked my soul and pave a perfect entry to shoegazing realm. of course the genre is the subject of dispute, as they can be categorized as post-metal or post-rock as well. But shoegaze define the thing better; with characteristic impact on listener; left me detached, mesmerized and  drown in beautiful tunes. The sound is a mixture of distorted guitar, muffled vocals and throbbing drums.

My Album of The Month (November 2011)

A decent post-rock album by german band "Collapse Under The Empire". The duo manage to conjure up a perfect blend.Shoulders & Giants is the first half of a two-part concept work that thematically deals with the human existence, the dream of advancement, a life of absolute freedom, isolation, and death. The album is bleak and severe, but subtly lit from within with touches of hope and beauty. It immerses the listener in the sensation of being alone in the mountains and crevasses of an arctic environment – the harshness of the bitter solace, the joy at the soaring beauty of nature’s splendour.

Music On My Radar

I' ve been  closely following some new bands:also as always  i will give some variant genres a try;actually April was fully conquered by unique mournful sound of Shape Of Despair; i ' ve been listening to music as long as i can remember; but this kind of expression through a band's sound is something really rare.i had Angels of Distress since last September but i found the profund quality of it just lately.
Anyway May has been another revoking process ; i listened to Over The Rhine 's Trumpet Child again;and i have to say this couple are just fantastic;if you're interested in jazz music this album is a Must-Buy definitely.
But ...bands i 'm curious about them are these;

Aim : Spirits Of Your Tide 2008

An Indie/Alternative Rock,Post-Rock band so underrated; their album "Spirits of Your Tide" is absolutely loveable with clean.melancholic vocals and powerful song structures;
I could find information about the band @ cdbaby.com :
"Marco Fiorello and the brothers Luca, Marco and Matteo Camisasca give birth to Aim in 2003. Aim’s members come from other bands of the Milan scene like On the blue, Halway, Molecricket and Scothc Woodcock."
Their debut album"Limit Of Sight" including 9 intense tracks which call in mind bands like Funeral For A Friend,Brand New,Thursday,...
but as cdbaby mentions Aim make itself a recognizable band slowly and mostly by its high level live activity.
By releasing their 2008 album "Spirits Of Your Tide" they reach to the point of maturity in their sound and style.
The album is a "emotionally provocative and cathartic rock"[cdbaby.com] album ;explosions of noise mixed with oneiric vocals.
My favorite tracks are "Too Wild" , Hubis II" and "Salige"
