it was a great chance i found these 2 weeks to watch some movies:
1.Port of Shadows (Le quai des brumes) By Marcel Carne' 1938
2.The Phantom of the Opera ---Joel Schumacher 2004
3.The Hangover---Todd Philips 2009
4.Wild Reeds (Les roseaux sauvages)---Andre' Techine' 1994
5.Perspolis ---Marjane Satrapi/Vincent Parannaud 2007
6.Boys Don't Cry ---Kimberly Pierce 1999
7.The Other Boleyn Girl ---Justin Chadwick 2008
8.The Kite Runner ---Marc Forster 2007
I think Marcel Carne's "Port of Sadows" is an unforgetable hauntingly sad masterpiece, he 's s made 6 films in a row with unique thematatic quality decades ahead of his time.
the movie shows a dark kind of fate for a military deserter (Jean Gabin) who faces a complex seerries of event in the port city of Le Havre).
The fact that Jean has deserted military is not directly mentioned in the movie because french censor matter for this immoral !
it appears that all the people sorrunding Jean are corrupt ; he found an amical relation with a woman Nelly(Michele Morgan) and tries to escape.
i've watched "the other boleyn girl", "the phantom of the opera", "persepolis", "the hangover"... persepolis was quite something. i'm now curious about the others on your list now!
ReplyDelete1-i have found a very special connection with Perspolis...
ReplyDelete2-"the Phantom of the Opera " was eye-catching; i was wondering how one can achieve this astonishing texture; combination of music ,picture and words with unbelievable rate !
Credit to Joel Schumacher,Andrew Lloyd Webber and of course Gaston Leroux
3-i'm going to write about my new movies
